Time Machine, Porto 2016
The intervention answers the challenge of interpreting any fictional story. It starts from the simultaneous exercise of returning to the past and then visiting the future, from elements that refer to the dimension of a past childhood and that now merge with the scale of the present and of the adult.
A swing, a seesaw, a carousel and a collective swing are (re)imagined from a common element that proposes new visual and social dynamics. The orange mono block chair, which unifies the fictionalized set, simultaneously represents the empty seat and the occupied place, drawing a spatial narrative that tells several possible stories.
By establishing itself as an empty space, each chair invites the interaction of the public and appeals to the free interpretation of the invited artists. By occupying the space in movement, each chair takes on a life of its own and summons the imagination. How to tell a story that has not yet been written?
